THE PLOT:

Young Billy had a tough life, it starts out by visiting his believed comotose Grandfather, who while Billy's parents weren't looking told Billy that while Santa gives toys to good children, he murders bad children. This messed with Billy's head and an escaped criminal dressed like Santa that murders Billy's parents only fuel his dementia.

Years of physical and emotional abuse by nuns at a Chatolic Nunnery does help Billy's mental health and when he's talked into dressing like the one person he fears most of all, Billy's think grip on reality snaps like a stale loaf of French Bread and Billy believing he's Santa goes out to "punish" the wicked.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

Okay, where to begin. I know the controversy on this film, that was just stupid. The man is dressed like Santa Claus, he wasn't Santa, he was just a poor man that snaps because of watching "Santa" murdering his parents and years of abuse by nuns. Nuns abusing orphans is a matter of fact. If they just kept quiet this movie would have disappeared into obscurity. Now for the movie, I wish they center on the abuse so much. I think we got the idea, they didn't need to keep pounding us with the abuse he suffered. The acting was well done and the story is the most unique twist on the slasher genre since Jason Vorhees rose out of Crystal Lake. The effects are pretty well done, makes you wonder how a skinny kid like Billy could pick up a full grown man by one hand. But over all, getting past the aggravating parts, it's a fun horror movie worth watching. I give SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT 7 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I do agree with Zedd on this. I couldn't even finish it the first time we watched it because I got so angry at those abusive nuns. But Zedd talked me into giving it another chance and I did. I am somewhat glad he did. It's not horrible, it's not perfect either. It is a slightly slow at points. But still worth watching...6 STARS

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ STORY (The story is unique.)
+ ACTING (The acting is very well done.)
+ EFFECTS (The effects are impressive.)
+ SCARE FACTOR (You never know what is going to happen next.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- STUPID CONTROVERSY (It was stupid, the man was dressed like Santa, but Santa's Slay they said nothing!)
- ABUSING NUNS (I think they centered too much on that aspect of Billy's young life, I think they could have done that once and showed years of abuse.)
- SLOW (Because of that, it gets slow at times.)

...AND FINALLY...

- FAN BASED (If you buy the hype by moralist or if you aren't into horror movies, then this isn't the movie for you.)
